29 May 2015 | Social Media Marketing - Facebook | Facebook has rolled out a super-useful search feature to their Page management Publishing Tools allowing you to search through all the posts on your Facebook Page.

Check it out: go to Publishing Tools on your Page, type your keyword(s) into the search field (right-hand section) and select the search icon. If you have a lot of results, click the forward page (arrow) button for the next page of results.

If you have a number of Page admins and your policy is to sign off, add your name to the search to find your own.

You can find posts on link information and Meta data too.

The Actions button offers the option to delete a post if you select one or more posts.

Finally, you can sort your search results by ‘Published Posts’ or ‘Last Modified’.

Certainly a handy feature to easily locate and draw back on posts from past years!

1 May 2015 | Social Media Marketing - Google+ | If like many users, you've shuddered at Google+ because it appeared to have little visual logic to drive the right content to the right audiences, you'll be pleased to hear that Google's Collections feature is scheduled to roll out this evening Aussie-time! Google's Collections will allow users to section out and curate their content under topics ('collections'). Some interesting Nibbles:

⋈ Users may follow all or some of an account's Collections.

⋈ Users cannot follow a collection if they have blocked that user.

⋈ An owner of a Collection, you can see the Collection's followers.

⋈ You can switch off or on the visibility of the Collections you follow.

⋈ You can limit who can see your collection: great for audience segmentation.

⋈ It's rumoured that there may be a limit on the number of Collections you can have; so sit down and work out a smart strategy.

29 April 2015 | Social Media Marketing - Facebook | Facebook is removing the Facebook Like Box plugin for websites; the box that allows your website visitors to Like your Facebook page without even leaving your website. The plugin will stop working on 23 June 2015 be replaced by Facebook's Page Plugin which you can get now. Go to Facebook's developers area > Social Plugins > Page Plugin (or head here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/page-plugin) > choose your option preferences > Get Code. If you don't already have Facebook's Like Box plugin on your website, follow the first instruction copying the JavaScript code from the first box and placing it right after the body tag on your website, then follow step 2. If you already have Facebook's Like Box plugin, you only need the second step: take the code from the second step and replace the Like Box Plugin code with it. It doesn't take long: might as well do it now!

10 February 2015 | Social Media Marketing | We previously posted a Nibble on Facebook's announcement on testing a new feature for Facebook Groups designed to improve the way people buy and sell. 

With the new feature, Facebook For Sale Group members can choose the Sell option when creating a post. Once selected, users can add a description of what they're selling, include a price, set a pick-up or delivery location, mark their posts as 'available' or 'sold', and easily view their catalogue of items previously sold in that group.
